Description
The Klein Porto-Tower KPT-120 is a portable, completely self-contained water storage tower with a 12,000 U.S. gallon (45,425 L) capacity and a discharge rate of up to 3,000 gpm. Operating weight is 18,000 lbs (8,165 kg) and full operating height reaches 39 ft 10 in (12.14 m). Invented and patented by Klein Products in 1965, it keeps water distribution equipment on the job by eliminating water truck round trips to remote fill stations.
Power comes from a 5.5 HP (4.1 kW) air-cooled gasoline engine driving the hydraulic erection system, so no crane or external power is needed. One person can raise it from towing position to full height in under 10 minutes at the push of a button. A 10-inch (25.4 cm) discharge downspout with a quick-opening valve fills a standard water truck in under 2 minutes, while a 4-inch (10.2 cm) fill line handles rapid refilling from hydrants or water trucks.
This is the largest model in the Porto-Tower line and is highway legal, towing as a conventional trailer with air brakes and dual 11-22.5 tubeless tires that meet current DOT standards. This UNIT A has been recently sold; a second unit (UNIT B) is available from our Farmington, NM location.
Key Features
- 12,000-Gallon Capacity: Stores 12,000 U.S. gallons (45,425 L) on site so multiple water trucks keep running without waiting to refill.
- 3,000 GPM Discharge: Discharges up to 3,000 gpm to fill a standard water truck in under 2 minutes.
- Self-Contained Power: A 5.5 HP (4.1 kW) air-cooled gasoline engine runs the hydraulic erection system with no external power or support equipment.
- One-Person Setup: Raises from towing position to full 39 ft 10 in (12.14 m) height in under 10 minutes at the push of a button.
- 10-Inch Discharge: A 10 in (25.4 cm) downspout with a quick-opening valve and heavy-duty sock gives fast, controlled water transfer.
- 4-Inch Fill Line: A 4 in (10.2 cm) high-volume inlet allows rapid refilling from hydrants or water trucks.
- Highway Legal: Tows as a conventional trailer with air brakes, dual 11-22.5 tubeless tires, and ICC-compliant running lights.
- DOT Compliant: Meets current DOT standards for over-the-road transport between job sites.
- No Crane Required: The hydraulic setup deploys the tower without a crane or additional lifting equipment.
- Compact Footprint: Requires only a 10 ft x 28 ft (3.05 m x 8.53 m) foundation for full operation.
